The Steaks Are Too High, Get Votin’, 2018, Video Installation and Video, duration 1min19sec
The Steaks Are Too High, Get Votin’ depicts the duplicitous character of a “Redneck Progressive” meant to imagine alternative political realities in which culture is divorced from an expected ideology, while recognizing that these personas in many cases already exist. This short video (initially meant to live online through social media) is one of a series of short homemade campaign promotions made in collaboration with Thalia Berard in support of the democratic candidates in the 2018 Midterm Elections of Alabama, Maine, Massachusetts, and Vermont.
